Dog Park Review: Ross Off-Leash Recreation Area
Ross Dog Park near Vancouver, WA
With all the nice weather we've been having in Portland recently, we decided to take the dogs out for a fun, off-leash romping at the Ross Off-Leash Recreation Area in Vancouver, Washington.
First Impressions
This 8-acre dog park is situated next to a major electrical power station outside of Vancouver. While the views are not the greatest, the sheer size of this off-leash dog park more than makes up for it.
This kind of dog park is perfect for Stella as she lives for fetch but could care less for other dogs. The space in this park allow all dogs to run free and play as they please.
Here's a quick 360-degree view of the park, to help you get a sense of just how big it is. The toss at the end doesn't even make it 1/4 of the way to the edge of the park:
Amenities
- Double-gate entry
- 5-foot fence
- Poop bags and trash receptacle provided in the park
- Port-a-potty for people
- Tons of wide open space (8 acres!)
- Benches provided for people
Getting there
The dog park is nestled within the larger Ross Complex. The most ample parking is on the west side of the park on the other side of NE 15th Ave. For driving directions, click here.
